You are required to wear a face covering at all times, even when studying alone; masks may be lowered when taking a drink.
Book and Film Checkouts
You can browse the shelves as usual; please remember to wash your hands. Staff at the Check Out Desk will help you self-check out your selections. ONLINE ONLY STUDENTS: Students that are online for the Spring 2021 semester may request to have items from our collection . Note that staff and time may be limited – please plan ahead. scanned or mailed to them, at no charge
Roanoke College Library Access Only Available by Requesting Items
Hollins community members will not be able to enter Roanoke College’s Fintel Library this semester (just as the Wyndham Robertson Library is open only to Hollins community members). The courier service between the two libraries will continue to run every weekday; Request items from RC in OneSearch.
Due to health guidelines suggesting that libraries minimize sharing objects, we will not be checking out chargers, calculators or other shared technology.
Computers in the Library
There are computers available on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the library on the visitor parking lot side of the building.
You can print from your laptop and pick up the job from Dana, Pleasants, or the Library.
Group Study Rooms
To maintain physical distancing our study and meeting rooms will have maximum safe occupancy clearly posted.
Food and Drink Policy
Due to health guidelines, food will be prohibited and Greenberry’s coffee shop will be closed. Drinks will be allowed in the building.
Reserved Lockers and Carrels
Lockers will be available as usual. Because seating capacity in our building is reduced, we are not reserving study carrels. This will allow as much seating as possible at all times.
Coming to the Library
Signs will clearly show entrances, exits and directions for moving through the building. These will help reduce congestion and maintain physical distancing.
Furniture in the Library
Furniture has been reduced and moved to ensure individual study spaces for as many students as possible. This will help maintain physical distancing. We ask that you help us by leaving furniture in place.
Users with disabilities (including those considered at high risk for COVID-19 corona-virus) can have privileges added to their library account so that they can request material from the Wyndham Robertson Library online through OneSearch. Requested items will be pulled within 24 hours and users will receive an email in their Hollins account when the items are available to pick up at the Check Out Desk.
