Please join us for the reception to celebrate the excellent work submitted for this year’s research awards! These awards recognize exemplary student research projects completed in Hollins courses with a cash prize of $300 for winners and $100 for finalists, along with publication in the Hollins Digital Commons.

Finalists in the First-Year/Sophomore category

  • Phuong-Anh Ha (’26) for “A Competition between the Economy and the Environment: An analysis on the impacts of the Olympic Games for host countries”, nominated by Vising Assistant Professor Felicitas Adu-Acheampong.
  • Autumn Wille (’25) for “Artlessness: A Disturbing Ideal in Fanny Burney’s Evelina”, nominated by Associate Professor Michelle DeGroot.

Finalists in the Junior/Senior category

  • Sophia Ciatti (’24) for “‘Nothing in America Would Outrival Such a Spectacle’: The Contested Histories of Mount Rushmore, Western Tourism, and American Nationalism”, nominated by nominated by Assistant Professor Chris Florio.
  • Natté Fortier (’24) for “Framing Femininity: Opportunities for Gender Non-Conformity at U.S. Women’s Colleges at the Turn of the Twentieth Century”, nominated by Assistant Professor Chris Florio.
  • Eleanor Robb (’24) for “Krautrock, Kraftwerk, and Techno: The Transnational and Interracial Circulations of Electronic Music Genres Between Europe and America”, nominated by Assistant Professor Chris Florio.

We will recognize the finalists in each category and announce the winners at the ceremony. Light refreshments will be served.
