Policies for Reserve Items
The Reserve Collection contains books and films temporarily placed on reserve for students’ use. Loan periods are established in cooperation with the professor and are designed to accommodate high demand:
- 3 hours
- 24 hours
- 1 day (technology equipment use only)
- 3 days
Three-hour reserve items may be checked out overnight 3 hours before closing. All overnight items are due back one hour after opening the following day.
At the Circulation desk you will need to know the following information depending on the type of reserve: Call Number or Professor Copy Number. Be sure to check the status of the item (is it available, or is the item checked out?). You may check out two items at a time. A label on the item will indicate:
- The loan period
- The due date and time
- In library use only material
Reserve items may be renewed if they have not been requested by another patron.
Overdue Reserve Fines
- 3-Hour or 24-Hour Reserves : $1 Per Item Per Hour if overdue : $15.00 Maximum Per Item
- 1-Day or 3-Day Reserves : $1.00 Per Item Per Day if overdue : $15.00 Maximum Per Item
For Professors, Lecturers, & Instructors
Please use the Reserve Request Form to place books or media on reserve.

E-reserve services are no longer handled by the library. Faculty should upload their documents using Moodle.
