Online Collections

  • OneSearch
    OneSearch shows all of the library’s collections. Enter your search, then look on the left for Refine My Results: check the box under Availability for “Full Text Online.” This will show:

     

    • E-Books
    • Full-text journals, magazines, and newspapers
    • Streaming films/video

  • Databases
    This list shows all databases, A-Z. To sort them by subject, change “All Subjects” to your choice.

Research Help

Materials & Interlibrary Loan

Articles and Book Chapters

Articles and book chapters will be scanned and emailed to you at no charge by our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services. Materials not available at Hollins may take 2-4 weeks to obtain, so plan your research early.

  • ILL request form. 
    • NOTE: If you are an off-campus graduate student that needs an item from our collection, please indicate that in the “Notes” section of your request.

Books

Your local public library can borrow books from Hollins, from Roanoke College and many other libraries using Interlibrary Loan service; this is a fast, efficient and low-cost way to get the books you need.

Request Books by Mail

If local Interlibrary Loan is not available to you, we can mail books from the Hollins and Roanoke collections to your home. You will only be responsible for the cost of return postage to the library.

To have our books mailed to you:

  1. Fill out the online request form*, AND
  2. Indicate you are a distance graduate student and write your mailing address in the “Notes” section of the ILL request form. If you forget to write your mailing address, please email ill@hollins.edu.
